The last time I wrote about the cancellation of a concert in Rio 2021. The concert is postponed to 2022. The band recently announced this month that the entire European concerts are postponed to 2022.
We know that the situation of Covid 19 is still going on and not over (Well, we cannot say with certainty that when it will end all over the world. And when we will all return to normal life). We may not know that now. But we will not give up.
It's the second summer in a row. Where concerts in Europe are postponed to 2022. They issued a statement. Which I add here from their official website ironmaiden.com.
We regret to announce that the IRON MAIDEN 2021 June & July dates on the Legacy Of The Beast Tour have been postponed due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic restrictions on global live events and travel. The Legacy Of The Beast European Tour will now take place in the Summer of 2022 on the dates below. All tickets remain valid. Please note:
-The German Stuttgart 2022 show will now take place at the Cannstatter Wasen, not the Mercedes-Benz Arena, which is not available due to stadium reconstruction works. Tickets remain valid and ticket-holders will be notified by the local promoter/ticketing agency in due course.
-The Swiss show has reverted to Zurich Hallenstadion as was originally planned for 2020, as this venue is now available again for 2022. Therefore, there will be no rescheduled show for Basel St Jakobshalle (which never went onsale this year).
-Zurich along with Frankfurt, Arnhem and Belsonic will go on sale imminently – details below
The postponement of the Legacy Of The Beast Tour does however bring the good news that Maiden can now return to headlining the European festival dates initially planned for 2020 which were cancelled due to the pandemic. This includes Graspop in Belgium so therefore the own-show date in Antwerp (which had also not gone onsale) will no longer take place. Furthermore, we are in the process of finalising a further couple of own-shows in other European territories and will update you about those as soon as they are confirmed.
Confirmed supports for all own-shows can be found on the Tour date page. Where possible these will remain the same as announced for this year.
Manager Rod Smallwood comments; “Naturally the band are hugely disappointed, a second summer without touring, especially with this very special Legacy show, is very hard to take. They send their best wishes to you all, knowing full well you fans will feel the same. As we all know, realistically there is no alternative so we will all make the best of it and spend the time preparing for a very memorable and even more spectacular Legacy tour next year, we promise! Until then, take care of yourselves.”

What would it look like if concerts were allowed ?.
I'll start with the band (we're always waiting for that). Let's say the concerts got the green light, yes. So summer 2021 ...
We know they don't have a plane anymore. So Bruce won't be a pilot this time. Material (stage), a ton of iron, pyrotechnics, plus a large TV (Screens) - on which we see at the beginning Intro, and then the band Iron Maiden. All this will go to the truck. A lot of people always work here.
Bands like Iron Maiden now have a big organization. However, due to the situation of Covid 19, many helpers will not be able to be in unloading and loading. (I'll say I'm not an expert on this situation, I'm just writing and guess. What it might have looked like). Maybe 10 people and plus one truck driver had to be at the cargo and unloading.
Well, the band has a lot of trucks. Almost 20 trucks. (In fact, they don't have to. If I wrote the wrong number of trucks. So I apologize). The trucks had to be a few feet apart.
And then after the trucks move and go to the destination country. Where the concert is to take place. A bigger problem will be possible with the workers. Because someone has to build a stage at the venue. So the workers will either go on some special bus (Just tailored just for them) or they will go in small minibuses. But the question would be how many minibuses they would have to use for the workers. Because it is a large crew of workers.
And what about the band?.
We think that they are not vaccinated yet (So they are the same as we ordinary people are). If they are vaccinated, they will go as vaccinated.
Bruce Dickinson, Steve Harris, Dave Murray, Nicko McBrain, Adrian Smith, Janick Gers and Rod Smallwood get a smaller fast plane. It will be a fast and private jet (something like the Falcon 5X). It's not a big plane. But fast enough to get you to European concerts.
The band will travel as a VIP person. So he avoids control with a crowd of people. And they will pass their own special inspection somewhere in another part of the airports. So the band wouldn't come in contact with a virus. The band would also have to go to other outlets. They would probably have to go through the back exit. In there would be no fan. (That sounds sad though, now. But the band and the fans would have no choice. And it was probably forbidden to meet and take a photo or autograph). So the band would not be endangered. The band would be transported to the hotel and then to a concert.
And what about us fans?.
When we talked about the band. Now we Fans. It doesn't matter the number. There will be 10,000 fans, 15, 20, 50,00 fans at the stadium or festival somewhere. And here's the problem right away. It will be enough to test that, the fan is fine. This is hard to say if it was a guarantee that it was okay. If that was enough, the fan might be allowed to go to the concert after checking in at the progressive goal. But the control of security could not say yes at the entry gate. (If they had strict instructions).
Did the fan have to be vaccinated and have a green passport?
It's maybe a good and a little weird question. We know that we probably have no choice without vaccination. I have no idea how this will affect entry if he is not vaccinated.
It's a bit of a shock to hear and read it. Because we haven't experienced anything like this on our country before. But a green passport will be proof that I was vaccinated.
Will they let me go to the concert after checking?.
If such regulations will. If you are vaccinated and have a green passport. If they really let you go to a concert after checking. Then it might be okay.
I have no idea what it will look like in practice. Although we may not like such strange regulations. It's up to us how we choose. If we want a safe concert together with the band. So we fans have to do everything so that the concert can be.
But if someone comes there, one person without vaccination. So I don't want to imagine what could have happened. You know, one person is enough and it will disrupt everything.
The band still has it good. Because the stage is a few meters away. Then there's the iron railing. Which separates the band from the fans. And fans from the band. If a virus did show up after all. So then a big bunch of fans could get infected and feel bad. (There would be something in the air too) I don't know. But I'm sure Bruce would notice if something happened. The show would be interrupted by Bruce. I don't think Bruce could say anything and had to run away with the band away. Somewhere safe.
The band would be isolated. But there could be a lot of fear or chaos among the fans. Everyone there would have to stay calm and help everyone get out of the concert and go somewhere to the hospital.
No one should run like a flock of sheep. Because it could end badly. Imagine that a person falls and someone runs along his face. Just because he's worried about himself. I'm sure the fan (Iron Maiden) is very intelligent. If someone is on the ground, it will help them even if a situation happens. He take him and he calls help.
That's why the band made a big decision this year as well. Although it is not easy to do. Well, this is about the health of us all, the band, the team, the crew, the fans. Only then can a great show work and entertain.
There is a band for us fans. And there are fans for the band.
